The Louisiana Rural Sustainability Conference is being held in one of Louisiana’s most sustainable rural communities- Vidalia, LA. The community is proud to generate its own electricity through the Sidney A. Murray Jr. Hydroelectric Station, also known as Louisiana Hydroelectric (LA Hydro). This station opened in response to a need for a non-polluting, less-costly power source for Vidalia, LA in 1990.
